Hop spent the formative years of his music career producing, engineering, and MC'ing in the Northwest Indiana/South Side Chicago underground scene in the late 90's and early 2000's. Hop gained his first national recognition for his work with Gary, Indiana's Grind Family for production and engineering on their "Grind Family Mixtape Vol.1" release, which was recognized by the Source Magazine's July 2004 issue as one of the top 5 mixtapes of the month.
Relocating to Cincinnati, Oh from Gary, In and Chicago's South Side in 2011, Hop connected with Cincinnati's own Donte from the legendary Hip Hop group MOOD. Donte would shortly afterward connect Hop with one his main production influences, the great Hi-Tek of Black Star and Reflection Eternal. Working on numerous tracks with Donte, it quickly led to collaborations with the Cincinnati heir apparent Buggs Tha Rocka for tracks on his highly acclaimed mixtape "Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet. Scattered thoughts generated the Hop Trax productions "Religiously" ft Donte, "Bad Habits", "Angel of Death" ft Cincinnati legend Piakhan, and "Time Machine" ft. Aida Chakra.
After the success of Scattered Thoughts, Buggs and Donte joined forces with the Legendary Talib Kweli, forming a partnership with the Brooklyn MC's label Javotti Media.
On April 11th, 2016, Space Invadaz dropped their free album "Contact" , their first release with Javotti Media, to great reviews. Hop lended 3 songs to the project, the title track "Contact" featuring See Hussell, as well as Donte's Solo "Antigravity", and Buggs solo "Nobodies Biz".
Hop then served as an in-house producer/engineer for the Space Invadaz/Javotti Media partnership of Space Invadaz and Talib Kweli. Establishing himself in the industry as a producer with in depth studio & mixing skills, he was tabbed with the honor of accessing the late great J Dilla's archives to work with Vintage Vibez Music Group and Donte from Mood to edit and mix the "Tay Dilla" Album.
His weapons of choice in the studio include Pro Tools, the Korg Triton, as well as the MPC Renaissance and Studio
